This special issue addresses the gap in understanding how radical innovations emerge and succeed in creative industries such as music, film, design, and video games. While research has focused on creative production and incremental changes, little is known about radically new creative outcomes that depart from existing conventions and how organizations can create and market these breakthroughs.

The call invites papers examining how radical innovations develop, the underlying creative processes and enabling factors, and strategies for market acceptance. Research across individual, team, firm, and network levels is encouraged, with particular interest in how emerging technologies influence radical innovation and how digital platforms and algorithmic systems reshape audience discovery and legitimization of radical creative works.
