This special issue examines how entrepreneurial firms internationalize amid systemic disruptions from geopolitical, technological, and institutional shocks. Rather than treating disruption as occasional crisis, it positions persistent turbulence as the default operating condition reshaping how ventures compete globally. The focus shifts from traditional questions about early entry timing to how firms adapt, survive, and reconfigure while designing new competitive advantages.

The call seeks research integrating strategy, international business, entrepreneurship, and innovation to understand how entrepreneurial agency interacts with systemic shocks. It invites theoretical and empirical work examining strategic reconfiguration, dynamic capabilities, and knowledge mobility in fragmented global contexts, investigating how ventures develop dexterity, orchestrate cross-border relationships and digital infrastructures, navigate regulatory complexity, and build resilience amid technological volatility and geopolitical realignment.

Geopolitical tensions are causing significant disruptions in global energy markets, fundamentally affecting energy security and economic stability in emerging markets. These shocks create complex challenges including energy accessibility issues, imported inflation, trade imbalances, and capital flow disruptions that threaten macroeconomic stability and development trajectories.

This special issue seeks to understand how energy security and economic dynamics interact within emerging markets facing geopolitical pressures. The focus is on examining transmission channels between energy sector shocks and broader economic effects, as well as policy responses that emerging economies are implementing through energy diversification, financial hedging, supply chain resilience, and green energy transitions.

The special issue welcomes theoretical and empirical research exploring the interconnections between energy security and economic dynamics, with emphasis on implications for macroeconomic stability, financial resilience, industrial restructuring, sustainable growth, and socioeconomic development in emerging markets.

The special issue welcomes rigorous submissions addressing how organizations and managers can understand, influence, and adapt to political risks and disruptions. Papers should provide actionable insights grounded in robust empirical evidence or conceptual frameworks, directly addressing real-world managerial and policy issues. The journal prioritizes practitioner-accessible work that guides organizational behavior and policy decisions rather than theory-driven research.

Organization design has been proposed to be contingent upon a broad spectrum of external and internal factors since the 1960s. Recent developments in technologies and geopolitical landscape offer a timely and important research area. Novel perspectives are needed on how processes and organization designs in operations and supply chain management (OSCM) are changing. Both sound theoretical base and appropriate methodology should drive novel perspectives on how OSCM processes and organization designs are evolving. Novel insights can pertain to the domain, the variables, variable relationships as well as predicted outcomes.
