This special issue explores the concept of bricolage—the ability to create and innovate with limited resources—in highly challenging contexts. The focus is on understanding how entrepreneurs and organizations develop creative solutions when faced with extreme resource constraints, drawing insights from the 'number eight wire mindset' that emphasizes improvisation and resourceful problem-solving.

This special issue examines how entrepreneurial judgment operates within modern business ecosystems rather than in isolation. While prior research has focused on individual decision-making and single firms, contemporary entrepreneurship involves complex collaborations, alliances, and digital platforms where multiple stakeholders must coordinate their judgments under uncertainty. The issue seeks to understand how entrepreneurs communicate their private and tacit knowledge to ecosystem participants, and how various governance arrangements facilitate or hinder this coordination.

The guest editors invite submissions that bridge entrepreneurship, strategy, and organizational research to explore the mechanisms through which judgment is mobilized, organized, and exploited across ecosystem actors. Key questions include how entrepreneurs convey tacit judgment while managing risks of knowledge leakage, how ecosystem governance structures affect stakeholder coordination, and whether heterogeneous judgments can outperform consensus-based decision-making. The issue aims to consolidate fragmented literature across disciplines into a cohesive multilevel research agenda.

This special issue seeks research exploring how consumers can make wiser choices and how innovation can better serve consumer and societal flourishing. The focus encompasses understanding consumer wisdom—the capacity for informed, ethical, and sustainable decision-making—alongside innovations designed to promote wellbeing rather than merely maximize consumption. The work also addresses how public policy can create environments that support these goals.

The special issue welcomes research from marketing, economics, public policy, behavioral science, and related disciplines that examines the interconnections between consumer behavior, innovation strategies, and policy frameworks. Submissions may explore mechanisms for improving consumer decision-making, designing responsible innovation, and implementing policies that advance both individual and collective flourishing.

This special issue explores the interconnection between social capital and knowledge management in organizations. Social capital—networks of relationships, trust, and shared norms—facilitates knowledge exchange and integration, enhancing intellectual capital development and organizational competitiveness across sectors including technology, finance, healthcare, and creative industries.

The call addresses critical research gaps including the lack of general theory explaining how social capital translates to intellectual capital across different contexts, inconsistent measurement approaches, and limited longitudinal studies. It seeks contributions examining how social capital functions as a mediating mechanism in digital environments, how it evolves over time, and how cultural and technological factors influence these dynamics.

The special issue invites empirical and theoretical research from academics and practitioners investigating social capital's role in knowledge creation, innovation outcomes, and competitive advantage, with particular attention to measurement frameworks, trust mechanisms, and organizational structures that enable effective knowledge management.

This special issue seeks to advance Schumpeterian research that integrates entrepreneurial activities across multiple levels of analysis. It focuses on connecting individual entrepreneurs and firms with regional innovation ecosystems and industrial dynamics, while also considering broader institutional and policy frameworks.

The issue welcomes research on the full lifecycle of ventures, including formation, growth, contraction, and failure, with particular emphasis on how these dynamics drive productivity improvements. It also invites studies that enrich the Aghion-Howitt growth model with contemporary entrepreneurship research insights.

The COVID-19 pandemic and climate disasters have revealed the limitations of market-based institutions and governments in managing systemic crises. This has prompted increased attention to corporate moral motivation and business ethics as essential for sustainable development. The special issue examines how moral adaptation, business strategy, and innovation interconnect in addressing global challenges.

The relationship between these dimensions is complex. Moral evolution and environmental justice reshape corporate strategy, yet traditional economic theory struggles to reconcile justice with efficiency and ethics with innovation. Simultaneously, businesses play an increasingly vital role in developing solutions to major societal problems, including climate change, through strategic adaptation that affects both their operations and their broader ecosystems.

The special issue calls for research reconsidering business ethics in light of contemporary environmental and social concerns. It welcomes global submissions exploring how ethics, institutional frameworks, and innovation interact to support sustainable business practices and address grand challenges.

This special issue examines how firms of different sizes and stages organize themselves to achieve exceptional performance amid rapid technological change, globalization, and ecosystem interdependencies. The collection seeks theoretical and empirical research on novel organizational forms, structures, and governance models that enable firms to outperform competitors, innovate, and scale effectively. Particular emphasis is given to understanding organizational innovations in hidden champions, niche leaders, scaleups, and other exceptional performers.

The issue welcomes research investigating how novel organizational forms emerge and function across diverse geographical and economic contexts, including high-cost developed economies, emerging economies, and developing regions. Special attention is paid to underrepresented areas beyond OECD countries, recognizing that many Asian economies have cultivated distinctive organizational models through national initiatives. Research should address how factors like leadership, internal collaboration structures, technology adoption, ecosystem relationships, and policy environments shape organizational choices and performance outcomes.

This special issue seeks to explore how Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming methodological approaches in technology management research. We invite submissions that demonstrate innovative applications of LLMs as research tools, methodological enhancers, and theoretical instruments for advancing our understanding of technology management, innovation, and organizational change.

Contributions should address both the opportunities and challenges of incorporating LLMs into research practice, including questions of validity, reliability, ethical considerations, and the development of new theoretical frameworks that account for LLM capabilities and limitations in research contexts.

Organizations in resource-constrained and institutionally weak contexts face significant challenges in maintaining competitiveness and innovation amid political uncertainty and technological change. This special issue addresses the underexamined role of knowledge management in enabling these organizations—including SMEs, NGOs, and entities in developing regions—to overcome financial constraints, limited technological access, and skilled workforce shortages.

Knowledge management has demonstrated capacity to enhance innovation, strengthen organizational resilience, and foster learning even under severe resource limitations. While empirical evidence from emerging economies supports these benefits, research remains concentrated on stable, well-developed environments, leaving underrepresented contexts insufficiently studied despite their numerical significance and potential for theoretical contribution.

Logistics and supply chain management (L/SCM) have advanced through analytical rigor and empirical refinement. However, the contemporary landscape, shaped by geopolitical shifts, digital transformation, climate pressures, and evolving societal expectations, requires more than incremental extensions of existing models. It calls for a reconsideration of the assumptions, values, and conceptual boundaries that underpin the field. Many of the most pressing challenges in L/SCM today are not only empirical, but also normative, philosophical, and inherently interdisciplinary.

This special issue seeks essays that move beyond established paradigms and offer reflective, provocative, and conceptually grounded perspectives that offer new lenses and open new directions for research and practice. The objective is to complement empirical work by fostering ideas that challenge, reframe, and extend our understanding of L/SCM.
