Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP) is committed to working alongside entrepreneurship scholars to advance transparency, replicability, credibility, and rigor in empirical research. This special issue encourages authors to preregister research plans, submit empirical studies as Registered Reports — papers that receive editorial decisions before empirical results are known — and engage with ETP's contemporary Registered Revision process. ETP is pleased to announce a virtual special issue featuring Registered Reports, supporting its longstanding dedication to methodological innovation.

A growing body of literature spanning multiple disciplines including entrepreneurship explores the importance of credibility and replicability in scientific inquiry and how scientific rigor can be improved. This call for papers reinforces these efforts in entrepreneurship research by specifically advocating for scholars to submit studies as Registered Reports. The Registered Report format has evolved rapidly from a niche innovation to a widely adopted practice. Since the introduction of the Registered Report format in 2013, more than 300 journals have embraced the approach.

Group & Organizational Management (GOM) has made an explicit commitment to publishing replication research and contributing to an ecosystem that supports replication research in the organizational sciences. By making this commitment, GOM joins journals such as Strategic Management Journal, The Leadership Quarterly, Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, and Journal of Management Scientific Reports in this endeavor.

As part of GOM's commitment to supporting replication research, this special issue aims to stimulate a continued stream of replication and reproducibility submissions to GOM well beyond the publication of this special issue. Focal studies (i.e., studies replicated or reproduced) are not required to have been published in GOM, but they should be of interest to GOM's audience.

This call invites scholars to submit registered reports to AMD, a submission format for completed or planned studies where authors present their introduction, methods, measurement information, and analysis plan without results. The evaluation focuses on the significance of the research question, the validity of the analytical approach, methodological quality, and potential contributions to theory and practice.

By separating the evaluation from outcomes, registered reports align with the journal's commitment to publishing studies with null or negligible findings, ensuring that results do not influence editorial decisions.
